Good News
This is the gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ
• God created Adam and Eve, the first humans, good and in his image (Genesis 1:27, 31).
• Adam and Eve rebelled against God, and sin and death entered the world and corrupted creation (Genesis 3, Romans 5:12, Psalm 14:3).
• God is holy and just, and we are responsible for the great debt of our sins (Psalm 5:5).
• It is impossible for us to pay the price, but God promised a Savior (Genesis 3:15).
• God sent his only begotten Son into the world to die on a cross to pay for the sins of his people and restore their relationship with him (Matthew 1:21, John 3:16-18).
• Salvation is by grace through faith, free gifts of God, not of works (Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9, 1 John 4:10).
• We must repent of our sins and believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior (Acts 4:12, Romans 10:9).
• Christians do good works to show gratitude for salvation and look forward to eternal life with God (Psalm 116:12-14, Matthew 5:16, Revelation 22:3-5).
If you struggle with guilt and hopelessness, look to Jesus! “Seek, and ye shall find” (Matthew 7:7).
